Bermuda's Best Vegetable Oil to fry
1-1/4 oz pkg yeast
1/3 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
2 lbs flour
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
1-1/3 cup milk
Malasadas (Portuguese Doughnuts)
Dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar. Set aside until all ingredients are dissolved.
Add flour, sugar, and salt into a large bowl. Mix milk and water together; add to dry ingredients.
Add butter, beaten egg and yeast mixture and stir to form soft dough. Cover and set in warm place and let double in size for approx. 1.5 hours.
Fry circular portions of dough in hot Bermuda's Best Vegetable Oil until lightly brown. Remove and drain excess oil. Coat with sugar.
